Enjoying Tilbury 2017 in the IMP as I wait for the wife while she’s getting her yearly check up. The picture & lighting doesn’t show the true color progression. I’ll post a picture side by side with the original to see the changes at the end of the month. Love watching @LeafErikson ‘s Meer progress pics…doubt mine will compare. Love the look of the pipe. If you smoke it at least a couple times a day it’ll color.

I got lucky with mine. I wonder if carvers are sometimes able to tell which blocks they think will be more likely to color quickly. I’m assuming the translucent blocks are like that? Idk why else people would pay a premium for them. I think my Tekin is translucent as @Chasing Embers pointed out, but I didn’t know when I bought it and it wasn’t marketed as such.

Did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2016 D&R Three Sails in an undated straight brush etched black Molina apple with a nickel band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Time for a late lunch.

It's Rouxgaroux made with vintage McClellands tobacco. It was a small batch made for a pipe club.
