Cool pipe...does it build up much creosote...I mean cake..? ;)
Thanks for that, got it in a junk shop for a few bucks. A 1970s pipe. The former owner allowed to build some cake. To much for my liking I scraped most of it out with a pipe nail. Now I keep it clean as far as possible. I know there are a lot who prefer cake, but hey it’s briar the most heat resistant wood you can get. I appreciate cake on a dessert plate.

Hmm, if you had one of these I’d be shocked. It’s a tamper, I turned it from a naval bronze shaft that came out of the No.2 boiler feed pump on the USS Barry DD933. Far as I know I got the only one. It’s concave on the top and bottom with the top being slightly smaller than the bottom. It’s pretty much the only tamper I’ve used for about 15years.View attachment 199810View attachment 199811
