The last couple of forum Fridays I enjoyed in the dining room/kitchen. I received no complaints but …. this afternoon I figure I’ve erred on the side of bliss and in a little bit will enjoy some 2016 McClelland Navy Cavendish in my No. 67 4AB while watching The House of Fear, in my Jeep in the garage! Holmes is in Scotland!

Rathbone and Bruce are the definitive duo.

It’s been blowing a real gale the last 24 hours and the loss of so many of our ancient trees is breaking my heart.

My first attempt at home blending last April resulted in my Frankencake, it turned out quite bitter so I pressed it and four months later stoved it, resulting in Frankencake Mkll. I haven’t touched it since September I believe and it’s evolved into a gorgeous chocolaty, spicy, rich and smooth smoke. I wasn’t really paying much attention at the time so it cannot be recreated unfortunately. Now it’ll sit at the back of the shelf as a treat rather than the “is that shit still hanging around” blend I thought it to be.

Anyhoo I’m just finishing it up in this Hardcastle Special Quality which has a beautiful grain that no picture I can take will do justice to.

Up next is another successful stoving endeavour, Louisiana Flake, stoved last July. It wasn’t an immediate success but six months has given it super powers. I’ll be having it in this 1960’s (faded hallmark) Donegal Rocky Bulldog. image.jpg

I gotta say Jeremy Brett is my favourite Holmes, my least favourite is this modern malarkey they came out with and that they made Holmes a nicotine patch user. ?

I have nothing against the actor but it just seemed a pathetic attempt to make Holmes politically correct and brush away the fact he was a tobacco and cocaine addict.
I admire that the producers of Brett’s Holmes never did hide his dark side, he was a complex genius and they never hid his foibles. When I think Holmes it’s Jeremy Brett’s face and mannerisms that come to mind. Also they didn’t make Watson a bumbling fool, an unlikely trait in a Army Doctor that served in Afghanistan.

Keep on at that rate and you’ll have nothing left for re-enactments mate.
@Birddog66 I'm saving the Yorktown for the Redcoats and Revolutionaries, the Virginia Cake for Jamestown re-enactment and the Pirate Kake for the Pirate Mutiny.
Ordered 2 new Hardcastle clays and some Cannon Plug to smoke in them.
