@Severus I enjoyed my 3 packets of Virginia No. 1 in my clay pipes; got some Cornell & Diehl Yorktown for the Redcoats and Revolutionaries event and Pirate Kake for the Pirate Mutiny at Matlock Bath. Saving my Virginia Cake for the Jamestown re-enactment; I'll be taking one of my Jamestown clay pipes to smoke!

@Skink Is yours a Markus Fohr clay pipe or one of the Old Dominion clays???
There used to be a clay pipe works near me in Brampton (Chesterfield Derbyshire England) and I think it's a shame Wilson's of Sharrow just down the road in Sheffield no longer make clay pipes. They got the old Gordon Pollock moulds when they closed down.
I know that Old Dominion clays are popular with re-enactors.

Good evening. We start with another tobacco. C&D: Mississippi Mud, in a MM General. And a mug hot tea ginger&orange. I have to say that I had a satisfying smoke, with my new Peterson. Somewhat more difficult to dry the moisture with the brush. And I think being new, it still has that bitter woody aftertaste. But I think that when I have a thin layer of cake, I guess it will give me a better aroma and better sensations. A decent pipe, for a novice like me. Tomorrow the temperatures rise in the south. An almost summery week is coming. With temperatures above 69.8 °F. I wish you a good rest and God bless you all. View attachment 129005

It’s a very Gothic night, the wind is a continuous howl and the sign on the pub next door is screaming on its rusted iron rings. It’s beautiful.

In keeping with the spirit and atmosphere I’m having Revor in this Gambier with silver band and amber bit. View attachment 129016
@Birddog66 Nice pipe; do you think Revor Plug would suit my clay pipes????

I have 2 clays, both are Marcus Fohr. I always wanted to try one, when one of the sites had them on sale I ordered a pair. They smoke well and are perfect for a short smoke.

@Skink I don't know how the re-enactor portraying William Cavendish at Bolsover Castle ? managed to keep his clay pipe burning more than an hour; I've only ever managed 45 minutes once; between 5 & 10 minutes, sometimes 15min is more usual for me...
