GH Aniseed Twist - the tobacco intrigues me. NA up here but Sir Walter Raleigh is - it too is anise undertoned, which I love. How do they compare? Maybe one day when sanity rules . . . .
It’s a weird smoke 💨 I haven’t quite figured it out yet. So far I’ve had coin cut and shredded and in both briar and meerschaum. I wouldn’t equate it to anise but it has a slight hint of fennel or something similar to anise with an occasional sweetness of a dark fired leaf.
It’s base is obviously good tobacco
and the nicotine hit is medium to upper medium.
It’s a really clean burning smoke all the way to ash without relights or having to work a tamper to keep it going. If this were ribbon or shag I could see hoarding some 😂

Finishing a bowl of chum bucket mix in a Wessex Canadian. I’ve lost track of the contents and ratios of my leftovers jar, but it’s all of the virginias and vapers of late. Somehow the last two bowls out of it have been excellent in terms of taste and smokability. The previous bowl was a one light right to the bottom smoke.

Having Savinelli 145⁰ in a Savinelli La Milano 2005 Apple. The La Milano line is circa 1949–1950 and is a precursor to the more ubiquitous de luxe Milano, and even has the same brass bar on the stem. However, it bears the Biscione Serpent stamp (in addition to the Savinelli shield) that can be seen on the stems of Savinelli Estella Hand Made pipes. This symbol of a snake giving birth to a child is a historic symbol of the city of Milan (you may recall having seen it on the Alfa Romeo car logo).

Sometimes friend I think you are a reincarnation of a member that doesn't post anymore (Birddog66), I don't know why, the style of your writting, the photos, the fact that he was also in UK... strange. Don't get me wrong, I mean it in a good way, I liked his posts very much, I like yours also... Merry Christmas and all the best for your Lady's birthday!
Thank you for the good wishes, Christos, and I wish you the same. :) I assure you though, I am not Birddog66 - at least, not as far as I know. But sometimes the strands of parallel realities, I believe - adjacent timelines of an infinite number of possibilities, cross one another and occasionally get twisted together, if only briefly, with strange results. I think this phenomenon is far more common that people realise, as mostly the symptoms are mild: for example, you wake up one morning feeling not quite yourself, one or two people you meet whom you know, act rather out of character, someone greets you by name and you have no idea who they are, and then you notice your socks are red, but you don't wear red socks: you were sure those you put on that morning, were grey... and that's all. Thereafter, the day proceeds quite normally... anyway, I am now going to search the archives for posts by this Birddog chap...
