I enjoyed a bowl of Low Country Carolina Christmas in my new Savinelli Saint Nicholas (2024) billiard, that my wife bought me for Christmas.
Currently smoking my Savinelli 616KS Onda with the last of my 2009 Peter Stokkebye - Balkan Supreme mixed with the last of my 2016 Russ Ouellette - Yule Log.
A quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2020 C&D Virginia Flake in a straight medium brown 1922-1937 Irish Free State era Peterson 222 bullcap with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Cleaned a few pipes and am watching Aerial America, one of my favorite shows.
Forget, but it was one of the Stokkeby blends I received for Christmas in a Peterson System.

Yup! Brown Irish X is just a thicker spun version of Brown Bogie, and the tobaccos that make up the rope are the same. On a humourous note, the sewing scissors are actually mine. The missus couldn't sew if her life depended on it, but I'm not too shabby at it! Good idea with the cigar cutter though!

Another great review from the Coyote.It's been a real night of discovery for me tonight! To wind down the evening before bed I'm trying rope tobacco for the first time, with Gawith Hoggarth Happy Brown Bogie in a Rattray's Blower's Daughter.

It was surprisingly easy to cut off thin little coins with a pair of very sharp sewing scissors, and the coins rubbed out to a fine ribbon cut with little effort. Based on the appearance and the smell of the ropes I was expecting a harsh and abrasive smoking experience, but after giving it a little dry time it was actually perfectly smooth like pure Virgina stoved to the point that all the acidity just disappears; but with the rich full fireplace smokiness of a dark fired Virginia mixed in. It's a really pleasant assortment of all the darkest and eartheist Virginia flavors, with a powerful extra strong nicotine kick that definitely puts a smile on my face. This most certainly is a happy blend indeed!
On this cold and grey early winters day I’m having a bowl of Ennerdale that I jarred up one year ago. The pipe is an excellent smoking Northern Briars Premier size 4.
