A Comoy sandblasted army mounted pot with no hallmarks

And a bowl of Esoterica Penzance
I was given a very generous sample of this a few years ago and I loved it.
Chased it down and bought a couple of 8oz bags.
The last couple of bowls were a bit underwhelming.
I’m smoking back-to-back bowls of this in different pipes to see if it’s the pipe or just me 😏

A second bowl of Penzance

This time in a tall chimney (a bent champagne flute) by IB Lorsn for Pibe Dan
The rim of this almost fits into the rim of the previous pot

A much more enjoyable bowl. Flavour is more focused. Chamber shape and dimensions DO matter

I don't have any proper chimneys but I've noticed I like a taller billiard compared to some of my pots. I haven't been able to articulate it but your comment on it being more focused resonates. Very cool pipe!

A miserly measure of Sam's Flake loaded into the little clay, with morning coffee.

@Scottmi Gawith tobacco is MADE for clays:) Samuel Gawith is known to have smoked them himself - and it still shows today. We're both keeping the ancient "Gawith tobacco in a clay pipe" tradition going! Currently smoking GH Kendal Flake in my clays.

I’m very sorry to hear that. We lost my brother at age 49, I think I have an idea of what you are going though.
Hi friend Ben. I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. My brother had an illness years ago. His lungs have become like a used tire. Nothing to do with smoking in general. And he was never a smoker. A big hug my friend Ben. God bless you.
