Relaxing after a wonderful salad, wild caught catfish and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've about a quarter of a bowl left of Seattle Pipe Club Hogshead plug in a well appreciated medium bend, smooth brown pre-Republic Peterson 999 Dublin chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Getting ready to clean a few pipes while we watch an episode of Curious Traveler on PBS.

Country Squire Cherokee in the Vauen Olaf bent egg. I was told this was similar to lane Ltd 1-Q but I don't see it yet. The first third was clearly cherry tobacco like Smoker's Pride Cherry Cavendish. The next third after a set down and re-light tasted like a smoky English Aromatic. The bottom third tasted very perfumey like cologne but still smoky. It was very tasty throughout but i will need to have a few more bowls to get all the flavors. But it clearly has a cherry flavor not honey, lemon or tea.

Cleaned some bowls, loaded some bowls, and looking forward to an evening smoke after an 8pm commitment yet tonight. Meanwhile, started to peruse this book which arrived today via interlibrary loan because there just aren't any copies anywhere for sale...or in libraries it seems, as this came from the U.S. Library of Congress, itself. "Back from the Ashes"

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, fed the ferals, and Suzy, and am smoking Wilke Hearth of Galway in an undated smooth straight medium brown made in France Saillard Lord Clerit lumberman with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Off to work I go!

Settled on a bowl of gaslight generously gifted by a fellow pipe club member in a custom lovet made by an amateur pipe maker friend, with sake in a porcelain tea cup that was recovered from a 150 year old shipwreck (by some other friends) in the Philippine Sea, and starting to read the “ back from the ashes“ book. Oh yeah, I’ll be ordering a couple tins of this Gaslight!
