Full Virginia Flake in mid 1960s GBD Virgin Briar shape 9465
A bowl of 4 year old jarred Yorktown bulk in an MM straight Hardwood. Deciding when to crack open my SS tins. I must summon some self control! Black coffee after a bran muffin.

2018 St. Bruno in a well worn 1961 Dunhill 34/FT Shell.
I like to maintain as few open jars as possible, ideally just three or four genres at a time. I think it comes from a desire for simplicity, ease of choosing what I'm going to smoke next, and maybe a little paranoia about something precious drying out from being open too long. 
But last night I developed a hankering for some straight Virginia, and none of my eight(!) open jars happened to be that, so I decided to tuck into the SG Full Virginia Flake that I had just jarred up from the recent drop:
I don't have the palette of many folks here, but there's a lot of interesting stuff going on in the smoke that I haven't gotten from other straight Virginias so far. Rubbing it out and packing it the night before helped with combustion, but I still needed quite a few relights. And some combination of packing too tight or being too ambitious with the tamper caused a lump to form during the second half that I had to aerate with the pick several times. At least until the cold wind really started to pick up, I was content to keep messing with it, but I ultimately sacrificed more than a little dottle and went inside. Already looking forward to the next bowl, though!

Just passing the half way mark on this bowl of 2018 Sutliff Walnut Match in an early smooth brown Radice Tiger Eye G medium bend bulldog with a bamboo-style carving on the shank with a two dot black acrylic stem.
Wilke Santa's Blend in a little Peterson '22 Xmas 03 ---- home this afternoon, made some chili which is simmering to make my wife happy when she gets home (and mask my having a little bowl in the kitchen, lol). Andy Williams is singing "Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season" and the dogs are napping, I'm having a rare Coca Cola . . . just sent the kids texts about holiday menus - only a little over two weeks!!!! 
2022 Cringle in a newish Meer stamped ALI, really liked the carving on this one normally I like smooth meers.

The rain stopped, and I was able to do a set of walking reps. Not far from finishing this bowl of unreleased Sutliff VaPer in a 1970's straight rusticated black Savinelli Estella 915 KS dublin with a flared top and pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Lavazza Classico, neat, is my drink.
I have one very similar that I bought back in January 2022. Wonderful smoking pipe. Enjoy!
Just finished smoking Chris Morgan Jackalope in a straight smooth medium brown year 1912 Henry Tongue bulldog with a silver cap and band and an amber saddle stem with an orific bit.
Now smoking year 2022 Wessex Campaign Dark Flake in a straight black 1963 Dunhill LBS Shell 4S billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
