Today was chilly but clear and sunny, so I donned the waders to walk one of the nearby streams to see if I could cajole some hungry trout to come out and and play. I brought a couple lightweight ozark pipes loaded up with WCC Old Dominion, since they are easy to clench for extended periods. Turns out the "crumb cut" on Old Dominion can be a bit squirrely to keep lit if you leave it a little chunky like I did, especially when both hands are otherwise occupied casting. Think I'll go back to packing a codger burly next time. They just smoke so easy. And the trout were apparently offended by my bringing fancy-pants crumb cut pipe tobacco to our meeting and turned up their noses and refused to play.

First try of C&D Pegasus in my MM Mini-cob. Wowzers! Definitely a where-have-you-been-all-my-life moment. I'll have to see what a full bowl is like another time, but man...this one might even dethrone my current favorite of the genre, Eight State Burley.

Bird report: California scrub-jay, California quail, California towhee, California thrasher (any guesses as to where my location is?), House finch, White-crowned sparrow, Oak Titmouse, Dark-eyed junco, White-breasted nuthatch, Spotted Towhee, and Common raven.

Happy smokes folks! Hey, that rhymes...
Your post inspired me to get some Pegasus out and fire it up. Yep just as incredible as the last time I had it. It’s one of those blends that could be the only thing I smoke and I wouldn’t miss much.

I think we have similar palates cause we smoke a lot of the same stuff so I gotta question for ya. Did you like old gowrie? Never tried it but if it worked for you I’ll likely give it a go.
Hi @LeafErikson. O absolutely love Old Gowrie. It is one of my favorites. I've held off from smoking it as I had a limited stash. I recently re-upped so I've been enjoying it this month. I also really like Brown Clunee which is considered a sibling. I snagged some Hal o' The Wynd in the recent drop it is another sibling and I'd been curious. Gonna let it sit in a jar for three months first though.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs, and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've a third of a bowl left of Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Matching pipes to four KBV beta test blends.
