My order arrived and I’m trying the MacBaren Navy Flake first in a 1922 bent Masta Patent Pipe. Supposedly just va, burly and a little cav but I’m tasting lat in there somewhere. The second half of the bowl is mellowed and I’m getting a little cinnamon. The jury’s out at the moment, because the medication I’m taking for my back is affecting my taste.

I’m on the second blend that arrived today, Charatan Black Flake in the Marcus. Smelled like Spring on a farm as I rubbed the flake out, beautiful full flavour that only improves as you smoke. My palate is still a bit tainted so it’s probably even better than this.
