Doppleganger, Morning Puff, and Other Stuff - Did some catchup commenting, and have to get a last large bowl of saskatoons from my yard before it rains . . . . this'll finish of the saskatoons except for one final picking from one bush, and I think I'll leave it for the birds. Dried the last two bowls, and now it's on to final cherry pickings. Checked out the apples, and they're about four days from harvesting, and I've got lots!

While typing, I skipped the morning mini-cob cherry norm with Captain Black Cherry Cavendish, and replaced it with a very similar tasting Cherry Cigar from Blackstone (Swisher).

Unknown to me before this last while, I picked up a couple of packets in my last tobacco order from CigarChief. Quite nice actually. No particular reason for the switch except was just too lazy to get out the minicob.

Was sent my Doppleganger photo yesterday via email, by a friend. This kid looks almost exactly like I did in grade 6, same silly glasses, same buck teeth, facial features, smirking grin, and same attitude towards stupidity, regardless of the source. I especially had issues with schoolteachers, and had the "little guy" attitude not only in sports, but towards any classroom cow that differed from my even-back-then well developed biases.

Sent it to my sister, and she howled wtih laughter. Said the same thing. Poor girl completely avoided me in school - embarrassed her constantly. Enjoy!

JimInks, I had a chance to try WCC Simply Orange recently at a pipe club meeting and their annual BBQ, and fell in love with it. My understanding is there's no more to come post-Sutliff, but do you know if Ernie G is considering a new blend with similar leaf, or have you found any other blend with a similar taste profile? Many thanks for your reviews and cat chronicles!

Thanks for the kind words. I haven't talked to Ernie about new version of Simply Orange (which was my idea) because he's been working on other new blends. I will ask him about a new Simply Orange since you asked about it.

Two more WC blends should be coming out soon: Simply Gold and Jim's Golden Ticket (Ernie named it after me). The latter is Gold Va.s and a light touch of Izmir with no topping. SG is the same, only with a hint of Izmir and a mild casing.

Tashkent in a GBD Dublin



Between recent talk about both Tashkent and Falcons, I realized that I had never smoked Tashkent in a briar, and I wanted to see whether I can detect a difference between the two. It will take some time and multiple bowls, I expect.
