Didn't ride to work today as I struggled to get any restful sleep last night so it was a 2 bowl morning!

1st on the menu was a delightful bowl of C&D Exclusive loaded in my Savinelli Porto Cervo 127 with a balsa filter and an iced coffee.

@PaulRVA, I envy your balmy temp. Taking a break from mowing and trimming my little yard. 94 in the shade this morning. We usually get our break from high heat end of September. Humidity, all year thing here. We volunteered though! Change to iced coffee.

Im with you as it was 95f with a 100f Index here yesterday. We had a cold front come in last night that helped us out so I’m taking advantage of it while it’s visiting us from Canada.

Finishing a bowl of 2015 Squadron Leader w/ Perique I started last night in this self-restored S Bang 'Aristocratica' brandy:

I'm always surprised by how different a blend can be with the addition of just a tiny amount of another element, in this case: Perique. SG was really pumping out some delicious tobacco 2013-2017. I'm thinking St James Flake, Lakeland Dark from that era, some of the best I've ever puffed.

JimInks, I had a chance to try WCC Simply Orange recently at a pipe club meeting and their annual BBQ, and fell in love with it. My understanding is there's no more to come post-Sutliff, but do you know if Ernie G is considering a new blend with similar leaf, or have you found any other blend with a similar taste profile? Many thanks for your reviews and cat chronicles!

Briar Fox in my workhorse small Stanwell Freehand. I going to wear this and the Jirs 210 out. I smoke these two several times a day. Quick cleaner and brush out the bowl and ready for the next smoke. These provide a good 30 Minute smoking time . When I fill up a larger pipe I smoke it in multiple sittings. I can only smoke in the kitchen and can't watch the tube while smoking. I have an extra room that I eventually want to turn into a smoking lounge. Will be hard in the summer because it's under the roof and no AC.

Rather than put my foot in my mouth again, I did a bit of research for others like myself who don't know what strawberry wood is, and might comment the obvious.

Got a great answer from Cosmic from an old post, and thought it best to share it to edify all us who didn't know . . . . .

Near the first third of this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Our cats have eaten. Daisy the Feral Princess and Harry the Hairy are eating now. Tomato the Brave's somewhere else right now, but he'll be along soon. Got four KBV blends to beta test today, so it'll be a busy day for me. I'll be off line this afternoon so I'll see you folks later.
