Relaxing after a wonderful salad, wild caught catfish and sugar snap peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've a third of a bowl left of Seattle Pipe Club Hogshead in a well appreciated medium bend, smooth brown 1950s Peterson 999 Dublin chubby Rhodesian with a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Watching an episode of McCloud. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Tonight, SH&Co. Squadron Leader special edition with Perique in a Johs smooth straight taper-stemmed billiard, and for the second act, D&R Two Timer twice-toasted burley in a Jerry Perry straight panel billiard with saddle stem carved of Mountain Laurel, a standard briar substitute during World War Two when briar was not easily available from battle torn areas.

Perry is the only pipe carver I know working in Mountain Laurel, and he sells his pipes only at the N.C. State Fair Village of Yesteryear in October and at the TAPS pipe show at the fair grounds in April ... if the show ever gets re-started after the pandemic. Perry works in Mountain Laurel, briar, and maple, and the occasional exotic wood. I have a cocobolo pocket freehand by him.
