Rain, thunder and lightning have continued all day. Rare for these parts. Many strikes in the neighborhood. Back out in the screen porch with "Vintage Enriched Prince Albert+" in the Mountbatten #9. KEXP for tunes and a Pale Ale to nurse.
In todays age they're more likely to retreat to their safe place, seek counselling and all huddle round and sing Kumbaya. Tobacco would impinge on their sensibilities.
My thoughts tonight are with the people who are about to be affected by Idalia. Having lived in FL for many years and now having lived on the water, in our sailboat, for a couple we're keenly aware of how much these storms affect people. It looks like landfall will be in a less populated area but there are people there none the less. We're currently visiting family in Maine but our boat is at a marina in Brunswick GA, which will also see high winds and storm surge. Cross your fingers and toes and stay safe out there.
