Wow, that sucks. It's time to get a house generator.

I have a few rechargeable generators. They are currently recharging at sis in laws. Would be nice to have a real gas generator so I could have AC, but we’d almost never need it. This was an exceptional storm with serious structural damage. They say we will have power by 6pm today.

First smoke in this Tsuge Cat’s Eye 607 that I got for a rocking deal at SP. I’ve got some Wilke’s maple in it. The pipe is great in hand and clenched.

This is also my first time trying a 9mm filter (Vauen) and 1/4 into the bowl I’m not loving it. It’s smoking less hot but the draw is quite restricted and the flavor muted. So far I’m glad I only bought a 10 pack. I’ll use an adapter for my next smoke in this pipe.

Most of the way through the bowl and yeah, I definitely won’t be using a filter with this tobacco at least.

Half way through this bowl of early 2000s Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style.

C&D Opening Night, a mix of cube-cut and shake, in the MM Hardwood this morning. That mix works well for me, since I haven’t yet mastered smoking cube cut or folded-and-stuffed flakes on their own. The wind is from the other side of the house today, which is also nice.



My jar of Opening Night is almost gone, maybe one more bowl left. I can’t really say anything bad about it, but it strikes me as a little “plain” compared to other Virginias I’ve had. That’s undoubtedly the point, and I’m just used to toppings or other processing adding pizazz in the other blends.
