Tonight I decided on a 50/50 mix of Rivendell (this batch has too much burley for my taste) and Old Toby. The taste was great and the Rivendell was toned down. BUT ... when I lit it ... it really lit and there was a large section of burning embers that wouldn't die down or go out ... I even set the pipe down to rest for awhile and it just kept burning. The pipe was my Barontini 1/2 spigot bent billiard. All the tobacco burned fast to bottom of the bowl with no dottle or moisture. ... Never had that happen before. Maybe it was too loose and I didn't pack it tight enough ??? I will try again tomorrow but in a cob.

After a day of cleaning, organizing, and not doing a whole lot around the house it's pool time!

Loaded my CAO pool meer with some Wilke Rum Cake I found in a drawer while cleaning. Enjoying a mug a real sugar Pepsi with a good amount of 1792 Bourbon in it:

Enjoyed a tasty Cosmic Crisp apple, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Wessex Campaign Dark Flake in a smooth dark brown medium bend year 1924 Dunhill 136A double patent apple with a tapered black vulcanite stem.

Going to have Blatter Reserve in a Blatter & Blatter Lovat—Patrick Blatter, who made the pipe, referred to it as a Lovat when I selected it at the shop; it doesn't have a saddle bit stem, though; the shank is round, so it's not a Canadian (although, literally made in Canada). I still think a Liverpool might be most accurate, but, defer to its creator. Anyway, I wanted something with a large chamber to smoke while I typeset a Michael Moorcock story and think about the accompanying illustration it’ll need.

When was the last color update?
Also - Sherlock and Watson must be feeling neglected.
Yes … Sherlock Holmes and Watson has not been smoked for a very long time.
Last color update was I think around 127 bowls. Since it is now close to 175, now is a good time for a color update, but I have been very busy.
