Another bowl of Yorktown. This time in Blakemar Briars Litchbruyere bullcap. A nip of brandy to wet my whistle. I'm waiting patiently for Mike Billington to complete his move (and backlog) so I can order another bullcap.
@edger I enjoyed the Yorktown in my clay pipes at the Redcoats and Revolutionaries event; the blacksmith kindly lit my clay pipe with an ember from his forge ?:)

Almost half way through this bowl of aged Rattrays Hal O’ The Wynd in a straight smooth brown pre-1952 (Comoy’s) Corinthian De-Luxe 126 pot made for Sutliff in San Francisco with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Watching the second game of the double header between the Braves and Marlins. Going to clean a few pipes. I have been cleaning estate pipes today.

Lovely pipe. Beautiful grain.
BTW, don't you have a summer weight smoking jacket?
LOL. I am working on it. May have to settle for a silk Japanese robe. The Bullmoose is of course a Lee. I make a point of not playing the brand up, but in the case of this particular pipe, it is something else in a good sense.

Mentioning a Lee is almost as fraught with danger as mentioning a clay! Snarky but true.
They now have "sun through" fabric so you can get an all-over tan. Tan lines are only for farmers.

People are very quick to show their arrogance and hubris when they feel the gang is on their side. Really, it does nothing more than show their lack of depth and intellect. I have a lot of respect for those who go against the grain of the masses. I find them to be much more interesting and colorful, even if they are out to lunch themselves.

Was that bolt aimed at me? I've always enjoyed a good sandwich out.

I smoke C&D Three Friars for it's condimental portion of burleys added to va's and perique. A year or so I ordered a few pounds of PS 41(Cube Cut) to my cellar to add some burley/va to my cellar, but for the life of me that stuff torches my tongue no matter how carefully I sip it. The Three Friars never does that. I've tried PS41 fresh, aged, dry and I suffer.
Any suggestions from down under would be appreciated, brother.
This is my “Cater Hall” style tobacco, stuff, tap the pipe and light and off I go. I don’t crumble anything or worry if big cubes are on top, for me it’s just such an easy smoke, no thought needed. Pipes don’t change anything either, cobs, briar, small or large it just works for me. Nutty, sweet chocolate, brown sugar is the flavour from top to bottom. I use a zippo and it might take 1 extra charring light to really get going and maybe this causes problems up front as people try to draw and pump start the cubes……….don’t do this. Light and tamp and even wait a couple of minutes before char lighting again.
If I had to guess I’d say it’s just the blend doesn’t like you, something there that doesn’t agree and probably never will which is a shame as we all need these simple smokes in our rotations.

Yeah, I like it's taste and aroma, but it must be my mouth chemistry, or the honey casing. Thanks for the response. I will persevere!
I suspect that a number of forum members are surprised by your cold temps when we are all sweating our asses off. They don't know your toilets flush counter clockwise!
