Not far from finishing this bowl of Ken Byron Ventures Shamrock Shake Prototype in a 1975 medium bend sandblasted looking, smooth on the sides yellow Pioneer meer with a black ferrule and vulcanite stem in the military mount style.

A shame they stopped making clay pipes...
@halfdan I know. They had all of Gordon Pollocks moulds. I really don't know why they stopped making clays but I suspect that if you looked at the unit labour cost of making a clay pipe verses the number of buyers out there they probably couldn't turn a profit. To make money I would think you would need 100 Dan's going through 25 pipes a month each on a regular basis and I don't think that sort of consumption level exists in the U.K in this day and age.

Morning people. Sitting at my desk smoking a bowl of CCP whilst I enjoy an expresso and contemplate the work load for Monday morning. My pipe for the entire day is yet another one of those interminable meerschaum 'cutty' pipes although today I will be back to trying to finish off my coloring project on the pipe I posted in early August. Since the sun is not up yet I cannot take a decent picture until after breakfast so for those of you of a legal persuasion I give you this children's book from our 'How it Works' series - the last in our August humor collection....

Going to smoke some more clays when I go for a country walk this afternoon. Nearly finished my packet of Mac Baren Virginia No. 1 (a pleasant mild sweet smoke) and got some Three Nuns for later.
Went to Cromford Mill and Matlock Bath yesterday; I've made another pipe video I'll upload this week and I had a few pints of real ale and smoked quite a bit of pipeweed; both were delicious!
Not buying any pipe baccy for now once I've smoked the packets Marconi sent me and your lengths of twist!
Need to work on my fitness now I'm learning to sword fight!

Samuel Gawith Cob Plug in an original Rattray's bulldog. Glorious Autumn has nearly arrived, with this cool, windy and rainy morning. I also ought to say that it's fairly evident that Gawith have changed their recipes. I see differences across the board. I'm commenting because the newer plugs are lighter and have much less casing and also more stem in them (the flakes and plugs are noticeably lighter). Perhaps this makes them more accessible to newer smokers, however I prefer the darker, richer older style that's not for the faint of heart. Just my opinion.
