How do you like it? I almost bought some of that earlier today.
So far, I've liked all the Wilke aromatics (and non-aromatics, too!) that I've tried. While none of the ones I've sampled thus far have been soaked/saturated in the manner of some of the Sutliff or Lane aros, the Wilke aros might not be satisfactory to a pipe smoker who appreciates an "honest" or more direct tobacco taste....for that, I'd direct them to the English/Balkan mixtures that Wilke also sells (and which are very good). The aromatic dressings John Brandt uses are applied with a pretty light hand, and all seem of good quality. @jiminks has probably tried most of their lineup, and could recommend which he enjoys most. @Backwoods Briar has been trying them, too.

Thus far, I have tried the Cherry Cavendish (a non-biting cherry), Rumcake, No. 515, Gramercy Park, Chocolate, and Vermont Maple Cavendish. Of those, I've enjoyed the Cherry, Vermont Maple, and Rumcake the most (I have also preferred the Wilke Vermont Maple over C&D's Autumn Maple). The 515 is a rum aromatic, with a less obvious dressing than the Rumcake version, and the VA component seems somewhat more prominent in that iteration.

I just bought a few blends today, including the two new ones Jim reviewed. Looking forward to trying them.

I usually don’t smoke on the work stretch, but tonight I cheated. I got home to an evening I could describe as chilly, homemade chicken soup weather. Though I love summer, this has been the first evening to suggest an autumnal encroachment, and I had to take a walk ... and revisit Latakia, which has been in hiding from my indulgences since spring (with the possible exception of some Gaslight). So I took along this ...

Dunhill My Mixture 965, from a tin purchased in 2014 and jarred the beginning of last winter, in a Stanwell Black Diamond 86. What a terrific way to welcome back the Lat!

Not far from finishing this bowl of C&D Burley Ribbon Cut in a 1970s slight bend black sandblasted Comoy's Silver Cloud 624 sitter with a silver pearl gray acrylic saddle stem.

Now smoking year 1969 Lane Crown Achievement in a black pebble finish straight 2003 Cavicchi C. Fatto A Mano lovat with a black acrylic saddle stem. Have enough for one more bowl.

The Rum and Maple sounds like a really nice autumn mix, and I'll probably add a couple of ounces to my next Wilke order.
So far I have enjoyed all of the Wilke tobaccos. To me the blends combine a great tobacco taste with a subtle flavoring. When I want a straight strong tobacco like Peterson flake that’s what I go to. When I want flavor and a mellow smoke the Wilke’s deliver. After dinner or an afternoon with beer I really enjoy a Wilke 191 or a chocolate and or a Vermont maple. I find that the Wilke and the Edward G Robinson blend deliver flavor and tobacco goodness!!
