Stokkebye Toasted Burley in a MM 5th Avenue
Ask @weezell I think they were sold through Pipes and Cigars one of the forums sponsors - he sent me one with a few spare bowls a couple of years ago. What’s the brand name and/or where can those clays be found?
Right, I remember that amazing tin note.I am enjoying it a bit more now that I'm in the middle of the bowl. I think you're right that it's more on the subtle side, and I wasn't really expecting that based on the rich and fruity tin note.
* Mainly smoking Calabashes nowadays.I am just curious but it looks like the chamber of the briar pipe is immaculate and unsmoked - I assume this is a trick of the lighting used to take the picture. The meerschaum 'cutty' looks to be a standard 5 1/2". Is the stem a replacement or original? Any idea who made it or is it one of those generic Austrian pipes that seem to surface quite often? BTW love your broken clay pipe collection. Thames Mud Larking or Victorian dump digging?
