Half way through this bowl of year 2012 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DR 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Fed the ferals except for the absent Abner the Eager. Harry the Hairy wanted to jump up on m'lady's chair, and when he did, Molly Danger fiercely hissed and growled. Harry, who used to be the bully, ran scared, and wanted out, poor fella. Molly does not like other cats except for Sleepy Suzy.

Don't. Leave it be. Handling it and smoking it will darken it and enhance the grain naturally. From the looks of it as is it has lovely grain. I have a few unfinished pipes, and one of those I did as you are contemplating before I knew better, but wish I had not, as it hasn't changed appearance much over the years. That grain on yours won't take long to pop. Already looks great. I didn't realize Chacom had a line of unstained and unwaxed pipes and now I want one!
Thanks, I was looking for someone to talk me out of it! Job well done sir. No sarcasm.

Not far from finishing his bowl of year 2013 Capstan Gold Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-WW2-mid 50s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood Special Made in England squat dublin with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo.

While it was really heartwarming to hear the laughter and shrieks of 6 kids playing happily at lunch, it’s bliss to sit in the quiet of the front verandah smoking a couple of bowls while the kids are off to their next play adventure elsewhere

The next pipe is another African meer - a carved Kiko with fumed rim which I bought in the mid-70s

With a bowl of Peterson’s Connoisseur’s Choice - the first blend I bought when I returned to pipes in 2018

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of Wilke No. 515 in a smooth dark medium bend 2021 Peterson Heritage Brown POTY 4AB No. 45/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Going to check on the ferals, and read baseball box scores. Daisy the Feral Princess ate and is snoozin' by my feet.

Near the last third of this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Walnut Match in a 1990s smooth brown medium bend briar calabash shaped Butz-Choquin Maitre Pipier JR Fait Main with a horn ferrule and a black vulcanite stem. Fed the ferals. Tometo the Brave ate a lot at each feeding today. I'm sure romping around in the nice weather made him extra hungry today. All of them are currently outside. I figure Molly Danger knew that because she came to the den a few minutes ago on her own, and is roaming around. Most of the time, I've brought her to the den to be with us, so this is continued progress.
