Bas Matica in my 2007 Great Line Castello. This was the first year Castello pipes were marked Kino. RIP Franco Coppo, aka Kino.

I have been smoking my newest arrival from Ravenwood Moose Marmalade.
This stuff is fantastic! This is a bright, very floral blend, all mid and upper flavors.
There is nothing dark in this blend at all, no dark fruits, brown sugar or molasses. It is slightly dry and citrusy with a slight sweetness in the first half of the bowl. In the bottom half as the blend comes together, it becomes richer and a bit sweeter with possibly a hint of vanilla, it is very subtle.
The retrohale of this stuff is glorious!
This is an aromatic blend, but it is obvious that the tobacco is doing the elephant's share of the work here. Whatever casing/topping is on this is akin to "tucking in the shirt and straightening the tie" minor adjustments that bring it all together.
I have become a real fan of Ravenwood blends, everything I have had is excellent.
James is a one man show, and his blends go in and out of availability, so one has to just keep checking his site regularly. I hope that Moose Marmalade is not a limited run as I would like to keep this blend around.
