Another full day of ranch chores, including removal of parasitic mistletoe (no kisses, please) from the myriad scrub oak bushes around the property. Relaxed my sore 39.999 year old body afterward in the workroom with a bowl of Ashton Winding Road in a Savinelli Mattone 614 faux-Hungarian. I have about one more bowl left in this jar--of the original "insta-cellar" I bought on the cheap back in the summer of 2020, this is all that remains of it. Everything else has either been smoked or sold/traded away. Excluding that purchase, it's a period of time I'd, most unsurprisingly, rather forget. 9/10
Bird report: White-crowned sparrow, California towhee, California scrub-jay, American crow, Steller's jay, California quail, Northern flicker, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, Mountain chickadee, Western bluebird, Spotted towhee, and American robin.
Here's hoping the Kings can beat the Oilers in the postseason for the first time since the USSR still existed...
