Glad to hear man. Stocking updates seem to fill the popular spots around here. I scurry into the thick of the mountains where my chances are less, but I'm much happier.
Happy Easter man, have a good rest of the weekend.
Oh yeah, those mountain brookies, especially the bigger ones, can be cagey, but they are colorful, pretty. The furthest south I've fished is down near Damascus, VA, there on the Tennessee line. Beautiful country.

C&D Bayou Night -- Latakia, Perique, Virginia, Turkish, and burley, or as it occurs to me, the full English with a Scottish accent -- in a Peterson Donegal Rocky bent rusticated briar Calabash B10.

Rainy and cool here all day, while I ran around to my tax person, the grocery, and for gas. It seemed like people were really staying home, fairly light traffic.

Enjoyed a big, tasty golden delicious apple, and am almost half way through this bowl of Watch City Original Crumb Cut in a 1950s-60s straight smooth brown Bertram 07 octagonal paneled billiard with a square shank and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Off I go to work!

@PipeIT Not a fan of Latakia myself; I don't like the smell or taste and it always seems to irritate my throat. The Clay King last smoked a clay bowl of Latakia at Nottingham pipe show last year; I think it sounds like a cheap car made in Syria before civil war broke out.
@UB 40 recommends I get a tin of Sillem's Musketeer and says it would be the perfect tobacco for the Clay King:
I love the tin art!

If you like VAs, try Sir John’s Flake; (that’s John Aylesbury’s site)

My buddies and I had a very nice ZOOM meeting this afternoon as I smoked some 2019 4th. Generation Small Batch Aged Virginia Blend in a meerschaum gifted to me by my "brother from another mother" Al Shaw.
It was quite temperate today in Chicago, so I finished another bowl out under the gazebo.
To my Christian friends, "Happy Easter."
To my Jewish friends, "A Zissen Pesach."
May you all be greatly blessed on this Holiday weekend.

Briar Fox on the ride home after a glorious, wet, and long opening day hunting for NC Wild Turkeys. There’s nothing like spending 11 hours in the woods. I couldn’t have done it without proper rain gear. Food and caffeine helped of course. View attachment 215070View attachment 215071

Going another round with the Fireside Chat...so nice. The 6 panel bent lattice meer is pictured here in a new dump bowl. I 3d-printed up a lid for this tonight which just finished--but was just an itty bit too big. will resize and print again tomorrow--seeking a snug fit.

For anyone unfamiliar with Cougar Gold, it is an EXCELLENT cheese made by Washington State University, and though I went to to the UW, I have to give our so-called rivals credit when due. Possibly the finest product of that institution! Separately, some sympathy for them, tho.. They recently had a fire at their library. It was a total loss--BOTH books were burned. AND...wait for it....the real tragedy was one hadn't even been colored-in yet.
