I have opened another new tin, a Davidoff Flake Medallions. I rubbed 2 and I am smoking them now in my - greek made/greek briar- "Pipex" pipe.
No doubt this is a good tobacco, although very expensive: 22.50 Euros(!) in the local market...

A friend popped by for a cup of coffee and a chat on her way out of town, so what a great excuse for a pipe and a coffee in the middle of the workday.
C&D Eight State Burley (sample) in the Foyard Beechwood Rhodesian. Had to see what all the hoopla is about, and I totally get it! This one's a winner, narrowly beating Mac Baren Golden Extra as my favorite burley blend (for the time being, anyway). Was busy conversing but...bird report: Common raven, California scrub-jay, Oak titmouse, California towhee, Northern flicker, and California quail.

Yes, let's hope we get some rain to put out those fires. We've got the smoke down south here as well.
Earlier had some "Mystery blend #1" in a meerschaum. I've tried it folded & stuffed, cube cut and now rubbed out. Not getting a lot of flavor from this flake. Waiting until the end of the month to find out what it is.
About a third of a bowl left of year 2013 Capstan Blue in a 2015 Ryan Alden quarter bend burgundy sandblasted Queen of Hearts freehand with a black acrylic saddle stem. Lunch follows this smoke. Watching the Braves-Dodgers pre-game show.
