Catch Her in the Rye! I love it and I’d love to try it.
Cranborne is in Dorset in the SW of England, Poacher is a rich, malty ale made with Crystal and Chocolate malt, it’s made by Badger Brewery (est 1777) Won a gold medal at the World Beer Awards too. I love this stuff, it goes great with a pipe full of anything. ?
@Birddog66 ,
Sounds like a wonderful beer indeed. I’m going to go look up the brewery and read up on their story. With the chocolate malt it must be a nice brown ale in color. I like to use Marris Otter in several of my beers. It’s a premium English barley malt.
Does the beer bottle art have anything to do with a “poacher”?
Thanks for the reply!

Sabbath walk with the family (wife & horse!). The abundance of long green grass in the forest is too irresistible for him. Perfect circumstances for lunting...Granger (sample) in the Foyard beechwood rhodesian. Wifey had her Capone filter cigarillo. Bird report: California scrub-jay, California quail, California towhee, House finch, Nuttall's woodpecker, Acorn woodpecker, Steller's jay, Oak titmouse, Ring-necked dove, and Red-tailed hawk. This will be my final smoke as a 36 year old. So naturally:

A pipe in bed. My morning smoke is Cornell and Diehl Eight State Burley 2022 in a 1970’s Wellington. This pipe loves burley. Coffee on the nightstand. View attachment 141738
That particular bowl shape is the one I’ve been chasing for a long time. Lee Van Cleef smoked a Wellington with that bowl shape in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The pipe appears to be in excellent shape.

It’s a bit ambiguous, could be a poacher, could be a backpacker, could be Halfdan in his hat. ?image.jpg

Good afternoon, gents. Enjoyable day of sport yesterday, Arsenal beating Man U followed by an entertaining boxing match by Tyson Fury. If it turns out to be his last fight I think it's fair to say boxing will miss him & his showmanship.

Did you see the fight? I wish I’d hit a pub last night to watch it. I recon he’ll be back for another bout at some point, boxers are notoriously bad at investing their purses and he’ll probably be broke by the end of the year.

Yes I did. Forced myself to the pub to watch it. Great fight to watch, he caught him with a peach of a punch at the end. You should be able to get it up on YouTube.
