HH Pure Virginia from a Randy Wiley "Galleon". Listening to Gerry Mulligan meets Ben Webster and enjoying a stout black coffee.

Seems you're a fan of what I think used to be called "west coast" jazz—Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz. I'm with you on that, except no vinyl or even CDs anymore. Of course you have to love that whole era when jazz was still competing with rock.

I'm a huge fan of that Era of jazz! Always refreshing to talk with somebody else who is as well. Some of the names you mentioned are guys that I'm able to appreciate throughout their careers. They ebbed and flowed through different approaches over the years, but remained rooted in tradition and always kept it interesting. Stan Getz is a great example of this type of success.

The building lit up in blue is the ConEd building on Irving Place and 14th St. The view looking south from the window of my apartment is of the lights commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
I know the Con Ed building in your avatar. The photo I'm thinking of was posted in a thread on the forum awhile back. In the window, there's a building visible below that is the one that has been plaguing me.
