Almost half way through this bowl of 1970s Prince Albert in an undated, unbranded straight smooth brown made in France Los Alton VBF Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Braves and Cubs game has started. So has lunch, but I should manage to finish this smoke first.
PS Whiskey in a Sav originally unfinished pipe I bought at my local independent pipe shop that has now evolved into a deep walnut color with a deep gloss, no wax or anything added, over about thirty years.
Mixing up some McClelland blending tobaccos for the next few smokes. From left to right, Blending Turkish Ribbon, Eastern Carolina Ribbon, 5105 Stoved Virginia (top rt), 5100 Redcake (bottom rt).
I'm very lucky that national Husband Appreciation Day coincides with an off diet day. M'lady made me six slices of cinnamon raisin French toast with hash browns and scrambled eggs on the side. I followed that up with a golden delicious apple, which I usually eat for lunch anyway. I'm now smoking the last of this sample of old Player’s Medium Navy Cut in a smooth straight 1980s James Upshall Walnut pot with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Just posted the review of it, and four other blends (including the two newest Wilke offerings) at TR. A cup of hot tea is my drink.
Samuel Gawith Perfection in a Tim West Quail. All this discussion of rum blends made me crack a bottle of Zaya 12yr rum. Goes great with Perfection, which I’m liking more and more.
