I remember the first time that I heard Nirvana and this song, and how it blew my mind… Instant love for what would be coined, Grunge Music ? I can’t believe that Kurt Cobain has been gone for over 27 years. RIP?

I remember watching Nirvana's first live performance on UK tv. It was on a late night show called "The Word" that used to be on a Friday night, we used to come back and watch it after getting pissed down the pub.

They played Smells Like Teen Spirit and Kurt changed the ending lyrics from "a denial" to "Roger Taylor", I'm guessing in honour of the Queen drummer?

I was blown away and It's definitely a great live version of SLTS.

I don't know if you're an Oasis fan but they made their debut on UK tv in 1994 on the same show as I mentioned above.
They performed Supersonic and I was equally blown away as when I first saw Nirvana.
Awesome live version?

@beefeater33 ... It's the narrative here that I appreciate most, but you were right...after a few listens it has grown on me a little as a song as well.

Some select lines that stand out to me for various reasons:

Greatest magic trick ever under the sun

We're right down the street from the street where you live

They mutilated his body and took out his brain...
But his soul was not there where it was supposed to be at
For the last fifty years they've been searching for that

Zapruder's film, I've seen that before
Seen it thirty-three times, maybe more

The day that they killed him, someone said to me, "Son
The age of the Antichrist has just only begun"

They killed him on the Altar of the Rising Sun

This is one of the most complex songs I've ever heard from Dylan..........
This is one for the ages, possibly Bob's Swan Song............
I think you(we) could dissect this for years and never quite get it.......... true "ART"...........
I've read that there's 70+ songs mentioned in the song- 70+ Songs!

This song reinforces my belief that we're all just pawns in this game we call life........

"Don't worry, Mr. President, help's on the way
Your brothers are coming, there'll be hell to pay
Brothers? What brothers? What's this about hell?
Tell them, "We're waiting, keep coming"
We'll get them as well".............

Good stuff!............. puffy
