I really enjoyed Brenda Lee in the 50's/60's. She could really belt a song out and of course there was "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" which climbed to the top of the charts in 2008 almost fifty years it was released.

5/5

"Rockin' around the Christmas tree
At the Christmas party hop
Mistletoe hung where you can see
Every couple tries to stop

Rockin' around the Christmas tree
Let the Christmas spirit ring
Later we'll have some pumpkin pie
And we'll do some carolin'"

It is hard to think of anyone who had a shorter career than Richie Valens. He was only 17 when died in the plane crash known as "The Day the Music Died". I just "La Bamba" when it came out. I believe it was the first or second song to come out entirely in a foreign language to finish high on the charts.

5/5

"Para bailar la bamba
Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia
Una poca de gracia pa mí, pa ti, arriba y arriba
Y arriba y arriba, por ti seré
Por ti seré, por ti seré

Yo no soy marinero
Yo no soy marinero, soy capitán
Soy capitán, soy capitán"
