When autumn rolls around, it’s time to dip into the rare, aged rums on the shelf. This was distilled in 1986 by West Indies Distillery (now owned by Maison Ferrand), aged in Scotland (unsure of how many years Caribbean aging vs European aging but a safe bet mostly in Scotland), and bottled in 2012.

I tried the Clement ‘52 once. Don’t recall much as it was following by an embarrassment of unicorn Agricoles. I still have a bottle of the original XO (52, 70, 76) and one bottle of the 1976 that I visit every now and again.
The 1952 and 1976 Clements are my favourite Rhum agricoles.
My one and only bottle of the XO is regrettably long gone.
Thankfully I have one bottle each of the 1952 and 1976 unopened.
