Lock Yard, the bar where Susan and I met in August of 2017 is closing today. Last night was the big farewell party (see the drinks above). Susan and I had talked about having our wedding there if we ever decided to make things official. That was now an impossibility. News of their closing only became known a couple days ago. We got there about 4:30 pm. A little after 9:30 pm, I made a toast to the bar, our friends, and talked about a health scare I had last year that reminded me of the importance of the people in your life, and followed things up with the next best thing given the circumstances:

My beers for this week

Ale Farm 🇩🇰 DIPA, fruitbomb with a melony twist

Hop Hooligans 🇷🇴 baltic porter, loved this one with a Mexican chocolate spicyness and the clean lager like yeast character

Funky Fluid 🇵🇱 x SOMA 🇪🇸 IPA brewed with grape skins, had a white wine vineous aftertase

Stigbergets 🇸🇪 Bourbon BA Stout, very smooth and rounded finish, but nothing else I havent seen from a Bourbon BA Stout.

KEGS 🇳🇱 Bockbeer brewed with a type of ancient rye, again that spicy edge to it was quite nice. Normally a bock is all caramel and sweetness, at least to me

Amundsen 🇸🇯 pastry stout, the idea of peach and chocolate was as appealing, but this was good.

Hop Hooligans 🇷🇴 Black IPA, to me a underrated style, paired this with a Bowl of VaPer. Im exploring beer and tobacco a bit more, I think there would have been better combinations.

Chimay 🇧🇪 dark strong ale, good as always.

Thank you! It was a beautiful day and a genuine treat to share it with so many friends in attendance. How have you been? Your absence has been noticed, and I was very glad to see you post.
