It’s been a while since I’ve had a bottle of Basil Hayden’s bourbon, and over the past few years it’s become popular to say how “overrated” the once-lauded Basil’s is, or that it’s all just marketing with the cool looking bottle. They are wrong... except that the bottle does look cool
Basil’s thinner mouth feel and lighter flavor is excellent if you’re thinking that a glass of bourbon neat sounds good, but are worried that it will taste too thick, hot, and syrupy in this heat. A top summertime bourbon for sure, almost like the speyside of bourbon.
