Finland is not Scandinavia! I learned this, very sternly, when a young Finnish woman was my romantic traveling partner (years before I met my wife).Always wanted to visit Scandinavia but haven't made it yet.
In English usage it is. In local usage it is not. I'm sure people there are sensitive to this issue though, so I'll keep that in mind. Regardless, if you scroll up you will see that his trip also included Norway (at least), which would qualify under either usage, and my point remains the same, I want to get there.In English usage, Scandinavia also sometimes refers to the Scandinavian Peninsula, or to the broader region including Finland and Iceland, which is always known locally as the Nordic countries.
