Hey Snap... welcome to the club and don't be shy to ask questions or add your thoughts.
I've only been around here a couple months, and this is a great group of guys... oh yeah and Phil.
Just kidding... Phil is a great guy as well and a lot of fun, he is also much younger than his avatar would lead you to believe.
I know guys… he is going to make me pay for this…

Hi all,
I've been lurking around for a while and I really enjoy this great site. Time to introduce myself.

My name is Bart, I live in Belgium in a little town called Halle, near Brussels. I've been smoking a pipe on and off for about 20 years. My fist pipe was a Peterson system 301. I still love Petersons very much (I own about 20 of them) but I also acquired some other pipes (Stanwell, Les Wood, Il ceppo, Moretti, Chacom...). I really like Mac Baren Mixture but I also enjoy Rattray's Terry Red and Rattray's Charles Mixture. I still have about 25 unopened tins of other tabacco's I received as gifts over the years. Those are waiting to be smoked later on.

Well, that's about it. Nice to meet you all.
Bart

Howdy, Y'all!
Name's Bear, Dallas here. I've been a pipe man since I was 11 years old. My Grampaw got me started on it back on his horse farm one summer. Mom wasn't too pleased with her ol man for that, but there was no going back!
I favor 1/2 and 3/4 bents, usually, billiard or apple. I have a few Boswells, A Bari, an old Lorenzo I've had since college, an Upshall Jumbo and a couple few no-name seconds that are damn good smokers. I used to work in the biz off and on for a number of years, but through the years have either lost or given away a bunch.
Fire up a briar and drop a howdy...No-one can have too many friends, especially brothers of the pipe.
Happy Puffin!
Bear

Hi Gang
My name is Frank. I live in New Jersey. I first smoked a pipe in college in the early eighties. But being inexperienced and having no internet and sites like this at the time, I had a lot of problems with bowl bite and such.

I just recently bought a Doc Grabow Grand Duke at the drug store and a pouch of Captain Black (White Pouch)the experience has been much better but am definitely looking to start building a collection. However, I have a very limited budget. Any suggestions regarding pipes, tobacco, accessories would be much appreciated. I look forward to reading and experiencing much more about pipes and such.
Frank

Welcome Frank and Bear...
Frank you ask a good question, and I’m sure many here would be interested in the topic so I'm going to start a tread regarding how to build a collection on a budget, that way more members will participate.
Bear... seeing how we have already bonded I'm sure you'll be able to offer some wisdom from your experences.
