Ah, didn't even know there was a match Elizabethan.
Match Elizabethan and Match Victorian are the exact same blend, just renamed. Perhaps Sutliff changed the names on their match blends before they got sued by Peterson (or Dunhill).

Thus, the blend originally called Match Elizabethan became Match Victorian; Match Nightcap became Match Late Evening; Match Early Morning Pipe became Match Sunrise. Pipesandcigars.com kept some of the original names for a while, perpetuating the confusion.

WVSmokeshop was selling both Match Victorian, and Match Elizabethan at the same time. They simply wrote Elizabethan right over the Victorian.

Old Fredders is my favorite Virginia perique but last tin I had was from 2020. Some say Janneman is comparable, maybe to the new stuff. McCranies Stirling Bridge is nice too, red and bright Va plenty of perique, tastes like red starburst and wood.

I thought the exact same thing. Then someone sent me Dorchester……. Blew my mind.
If anyone can mention something that is very similar to Dorchester, I am all ears and want to try it.

GL Pease Telegraph Hill is similar to Dorchester, but without the apricot topping.

I couldn’t even finish a tin of the STG Elizabethan Mixture. Granted it wasn’t aged, but it was wildly different to me than Suttliff Match Victorian.
Sutliff Match Victorian was modeled after the Murray's version of Elizabethan Mixture, which is a different balance than the STG version.

Kind of surprised nobody mentioned GL Pease Stratford, my favorite of his Va/Pers. It's very well balanced, or was, the last time I smoked it.

If you ever have the chance to try some Beacon Extra it will blow your hair back. Love the stuff but sadly gone the way of the dodo.
Absolutely agree. I have a handful of OG Beacon and Extra that I am rationing. Living in Missouri I was a McClelland boy thru and thru. Visited with Mike and Mary O'Neil at KC and St Louis pipe shows. Still grieving their closing but Mike said the quality tobacco was slowly vanishing and it was too hard to maintain their blends. End of an Era.

I have one jar of Beacon Extra stashed away and that will be my retirement jar.
