At 40 years old, I'm certainly not among the eldest members of this forum - BUT - growing up, there were big blue mailboxes on nearly every corner in my neighborhood.
Nowadays, they're so rare, I couldn't tell you where the closest one is (aside from the actual post office).
I miss those.

The Humansville Amish Community is actually the Dunnegan Amish Community, and all of the reason for that, is the existence of the Dunnegan Post Office, open two hours a day Monday through Saturday.

That post office also keeps Cedar County 10 road open through Spout Spring Hollow.

People can have a post office box and buy stamps and send parcel post at the Dunnegan post office.

There’s still rural free delivery (and pickup) at Dunnegan, but that doesn’t replace the post office.

Im a sucker for colored stems as well. I find this one interesting. Its almost the color of super oxidized vulcanite. of course more even than it would be.
I think it's actually called "sand" by SEM. It's a relatively neutral color that can work with a wide variety of stummel finishes.

I've always found colored or brindled ebonites to not show oxidation as much. Thats a big plus for me.

I assumed you were born in the early 90s. I guess nice pipes keeps a man looking youthful.

I sent a GBD to a member in New Zealand back in late November, it delivered on the 26th.
It went to:
DC to NYC
NYC in and out twice
NYC to Miami
Stayed in Miami for about two weeks, tracking said it left, the arrived, then left
Miami to San Francisco
San Fran - left and arrived twice.
San Fran to Auckland
Auckland to New Zealand then delivery.
All for I think $10 or so.
We laughed and said the pipe vacationed in Miami for a few weeks.

That Mikakidas is amazing, I was not familiar with that carver.

With prices these days that was quite a deal. Should have at least sent a postcard back to you.

Yorgos hasn't been at it THAT long, compared to others. Greece has a small but accomplished group of carvers doesn't it?
Scandpipes and BlueRoom sells his wares, but you're better off just following his IG for updates. He's carving full time seemingly- there's always one or two for sale - and commissions don't take too long.

I shipped a package the last week of Nov and the tracking hasn't been updated and it is still in post office limbo. Funny thing is I shipped three boxes at the same time. 2 made it, 1 is MIA.

I can't stand USPS anymore! It takes them 5 days to ship a product from Richmond to Virginia Beach. 90 miles, 5 days. The Pony Express was faster. Even worse is paying for UPS only to have them outsource the "final mile" to the USPS. Product hits my town in a day from UPS, then USPS processes it and I received it on Wednesday or Thursday. Complete BS. My mailman is an ok guy, but the logistics of USPS straight up suck.
