Thanks to this thread some Grousemoor is now in my P&C Basket, along with some 1792 Flake for good measure. Time to venture into the Lakeland district.

I really hope you like it! I have been smoking a pipe for 7 years now and I have never had anything even remotely like it and I'm loving it! 1792 is considered a Lakeland but it isn't really true to the Lakeland's that are scented. It has a Tonka essence but doesn't have any of the floral notes that make a true Lakeland a Lakeland, I'm sure that others will disagree with me though. I would recommend you try Ennerdale Flake, that's the one that got me to open my eyes to the whole new world of tobaccos of the Lakeland genre. My favorite one of all is Dark Flake scented, but damn that one is strong, even stronger than 1792, so be careful not to get sick if ya try it. How many times can I say Lakeland in one post?
Lakeland, Lakeland, Lakeland...

Tambolaka for me. Oddest prep ever and it kicked the living hell out of me. I thought I could take nicotine with the best of them, I should have used a grp 1 sized pipe.

Yeah, Ennerdale was first on my list to try as seems generally accepted as the archetypal paragon of Lakeland-ness, but your description of the lemon grass note of Grousemoor may be too alluring.
Hmmm, based on what you've said I may have to add some Dark Scented to my order. I love strong, strong tobacco.
WAIT: I've just read that Dark Scented Flake may contain oil of Bergamot, i.e., the defining flavor of Earl Grey Tea! Count me in!

Tambolaka for me
Is this still available anywhere? A 4Noggins page popped up when I searched, but unfortunately it was blocked by my workplace's firewall.

PB No. 2, from Sturks Tobbaconist in CapeTown, South Africa. It is like smoking grandma's lavender soap. Next to that, twenty year old Old Gowire, shared with me by Basil Meadows. Was like sipping cola.

I don't think it's been mentioned before, but Samuel Gawith's Black XX Twist is unlike anything else I've ever smoked. First, it's a rope, which is different from almost anything out there. It's stoved, which is what turns the Virginias virtually black, and has an intense deep flavor, a unique room note, and huge thick volumes of satisfying smoke. It's not my favorite, but it would probably make my top 15 list. Some will love it. Many will hate it. But almost all would agree it's very unique. If there's something out there similar, I'd like to know what it is so I could try it.

Another vote for Peretti's Cuban Mixture. A marvelous blend.
I also have to give a nod to Uhle's Raider Blend.

The description from their website: "This project, created in honor of a local Smoking Club, is a spicy twist on a classic dessert: cherry pie with a tang. Ingredients: Cherry Cavendish with a “spec” of Latakia"
I'm not exactly a fan of either cherry or Latakia blends, but Uhle's Raider Blend is so unique and a classic example of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts.

New Market by C&d. So much citrus and grass cut with wacky Deer Tongue. I always get a "what's that??" in terms of room note.

Not sure - I don't see it on 4noggins site. This was years ago and we did a group order directly from Indonesia.

Daughter's and Ryan London Dock: Cherry, vanilla, floral smell and taste. Too excessively weird for me to enjoy.

Of the tobaccos I've tried I'd definitely say Manil's La Brumeuse Semois is the most unique. It's not like anything else I've smoked.

(Tambolaka)
Last I heard, emails to the supplier were going unanswered and the homepage (tntobaccos.com) is now defunct.

Does anyone carry condor in the US? Or do we need to purchase from overseas?

Damn - I offloaded mine first chance I had. Who knew that an Indonesian nicoteen beast would one day be extinct.
