And another lacking the town name, double One Dot.

Well Al, This pipe looks like the spitting cousin to the pipe that started this thread. The only other early Sasieni pipes I've seen without town names were the Rustic pipes. So it very well may be that the Specially Selected stamp replaced the Town stamp, or the pipe was made prior to late 1923, or Sasieni was variable in its use of stampings, like Barling.
There's always an element of faith and mystery that accompanies these early pipes.

The Double Side Dot is from 1923, as the seller correctly stated, so we wouldn't expect a town name. All the markings are correct, the Made In England on the shank radially, the LG size mark, and the SB (which we're not sure of. This thread actually reminded me that I have a Specially Selected. It would be a One Dot, but as you can see, it does not have a Sasieni stem (it is in fact a Barling's Stem!). Some funky stain which is not original, but a beautiful crosscut grain pattern. It looks like it has the same Made in England mark as the Double One Dot linked to, I have to take a closer look at that...but first I have to find it!

Quoting myself,
"...a Sasieni Specially Selected, with the Pat. No. plainly readable. Marked LG on the right hand side of the shank, which is consistent with these early (1919-1923) Sasieni pipes, and in very small letters on the lower left hand side of the shank, SB, which I have no idea the meaning of. Mortise looks like it is drilled to accept a stinger, so this pipe was a One Dot of some sort. It's a good sized pipe, slightly larger than the Viscount Lascelles shape, and the bowl is in excellent condition."
:)

One Dots didn't have town names. At least I've never seen one. The town names, I'm almost certain, began with the Four Dots.
