Yeah. I use the matchbox slid partially open. It's just to keep the ash from tipping out. If the pipe is empty, it lies on its side. I have a stand or two, but don't use them daily.A cardboard box

It was holding up one of my wife's orchids, but not any more!! ?Did you see this little contraption @SpookedPiper had on the shank of one of his pipes to keep it up right? I’m assuming that is what it was there for... hmm ?

I got a nice rack I made in the living room, holds 14...not very portable though.Make your own? Not that hard if you have even minor skill set and some scrap lumber laying around.
I' have 1 of those leather loop stands, and only because it came with a Peterson that i ordered. My Racks I also make myself.
I do use the leather loop occasionally for taking pics.
I thought that sitters looked funny for no real purpose, until I sat down with my sitter pipe, a book, and a neat bourbon. Eureka!I do not mind holding pipes in hand. They do not have to stand unless it is a sitter.
