If they had super advanced tech I suspect they’d control our perception of them. They’d allow us to see them if they wanted, or not.
‘Cloaking”
Yeah.. they are demons.

It's only scifi movies and books that make you think about aliens.
could be angels too. Or neutral spirits
I am still driving and flying around the world, because... even though the climate is changing, I don't care.
This goes towards my answer for your second question... I figure that climate change will kill off the extra people.
puffy
agree. Nature is a self-correcting ebb and flow. It is not the planet that is in trouble, but the people who live on it.
I've read that they started with 14,000 papers, whittled that down to 500 or so, then again to 68 (can't remember the criteria) and 97% of their writers agree. It sounds somewhat... mad?
it’s called an “echo chamber” . Most institutions have them. Even this place
Speaking of climate change I’m sensing a whole lot of hot air heating up this conversation ;)

On a more serious note, regardless if climate change is real and if it’s man made or not, I’m a big fan of green energy and shifting away from fossil fuels in general. However I think a nation is wise to have a diverse source of energy over all to not be in a position where we are relying on one or two sources, some in which are controlled by other nations.

Solar panels won’t suck the sun dry!
Do you realize that if there were aliens and we had reverse-engineered their technology, that the automobile, airline, and oil industries would be instantly rendered obsolete if that tech were to be unrolled and made readily accessible to all of man? Green energy is just a new way to monetize your energy use without giving away free energy. The oligarchs will let you buy new stuff instead of the old, but the will not let you buy nothing.
And the debate is how much pollution is affecting climate change. Welcome to the debate.
i think he’s saying he’s against pollution because he likes to breathe fresh air and drink clean water, but doesn’t think it’s making our planet hotter
When I was a kid, growing up in the San Fernando Valley, we would get the light dusting of snow once every several years. That hasn't happened in decades, until a couple of years ago when they got a light dusting in the Hollywood Hills, up around the Hollywood sign.
A hundred plus degree day was a rarity, not a ten day block or longer, nor happening as well in March and November in addition to the usual September heat.
Up til a few years ago I had never heard of atmospheric rivers, heat domes, or bomb cyclones.
People seem to think that all of this should be a straight progression and that anything that isn't somehow disproves climate change. That's wishful thinking. There's just a whole lot of complexity in the process.

And to bring it back to UFO's, I'm skeptical about all of it.
I will agree that the town I have lived in for the past 7 years has had increased wind for the past 5. 12-20 mph 4-5 days/week. Annoying. But probably hard to nail down a cause.

I LOVE THIS THREAD

Well, my childhood was largely 1960s and it went cold for a couple of decades - before that, it was generally warmer. So we've come back a bit. My dad was born in 1921 and it didn't rain in the UK all that year - people were pretty freaked out by it, by all accounts, and artillery was fired into the sky to try and be seen to do something. Plus ca change.
