..I prefer Mixture 69.
I dunno... I've seen the tin art and I'm not sure that I'd want that canned.

I need to start expanding my Lat forward repertoire, or I'm in danger of becoming a one-trick pony. SToP's Smyrna and Bengal Slices were pretty nice in testing. I look forward to seeing if they land a spot in regular rotation.

Whatever I haven't tried yet.
Until my last order, Newminster English Luxus (17) would have been high on the list, but that batch just wasn't quite right somehow--harsher, pepperier, a bit more damp. It was from a supplier I hadn't ordered from before so next time I'll order from one of the places that sent the stuff I grew to love.

So dry it out a bit if it's a bit damper, that could be giving you the harshness.

You are certainly correct Andy. I have dried it significantly and some of the harshness has dissipated. But the peppery taste and a bit of tongue bite remain, pretty much unabated. My working theory is someone at the new supplier had a bad day and grabbed a pound out of one of the other Newmister barrels--maybe the Ultimate English (52) barrel.
