My father died of alcoholism, and it wasn’t until then that we learned that alcohol withdrawal can kill you. I never learned that in school, so I always make it a point to say it, in case there are others like me who didn’t know. I enjoy a drink every now and then, but drinking is a rare thing for me. I agree that the frequency of drinking has certainly increased this year. Hasn’t been an easy one!
Lost both my parents due to alcohol. Never touched it myself due to that. I'm the only person I know that's never drank before....
But I will say, don't ever get between me and my My. Dew.....

I believe I am done with drinking. The 10 minutes of a slight buzz, the gross feeling, the loss of judgement, the loss of energy and productivity the next day, and the price, just isn’t worth it for me.

Smoking a pipe doesn’t do these things to me, although I can feel a bit too relaxed from it (which causes me to lose productivity), and we all know piping can quickly become an expensive habit. However, I don’t need another expensive habit that is an overall negative. Now, this isn’t me becoming like those pipe smokers that mock cigarette smokers. You are free to do what you wish, and I cannot stand most laws.

If you all remember this
Was wondering if anyone else has had or currently has gotten a bit out of hand with drinking?

Lately with this pademonium on I find myself hitting the bottle regularly and topping it off with either a beer or wine - I was considering taking an break/ or possibly completely and sticking to the brown weed as my release
It is definitely taking a toll on my body - you can feel it in your head and physical aches and
Plus it's so expensive... feel free to chime in on this one

I felt the same as you a couple of years ago.

I like to paraphrase Kris Kristofferson and say that the going up was no longer worth the coming down. Combined with constantly being on call for work. Drinking started to feel like a burden instead of a relief.

So I decided to take a break from alcohol to se how it felt.

It feels great! I still drink a glass of wine or two if I'm at a wedding or such, but alcohol has lost its appeal to me and I don't need or want it anymore.

If you feel like alcohol is becoming a burden I would (most humbly and without judgement) suggest trying a break or cut back to se how it feels. You can always start drinking more again if you want to and you will feel better for knowing you are able to cut back or stop if you want or need to.

I recommend the book This Naked Mind by Annie Grace. It's not preachy or any such thing, instead it's a straight forward logical discussion about what alcohol is and how we view it.

Is that alot? I drink by the 1.75 bottle they last about three days

I don't know if you ask in jest and I don't judge but the answer to your question is yes that is a lot. You drink more in one day than what the British NHS advice as maximum amount per week.
