The (Un)Official Secret Santa 2018 Thread!

Christmas morning has been kind to me, and my Secret Santa nailed me with a couple of beautiful blends. SG Full Virginia Flake is a firm favorite, and for this “bulk nut” it’s special to actually have it in a tin!! The Rattray Dark Fragrant is a blend I haven’t visited in a long time, but have some great memories of that sweet dark Virginia cavendish. Santa could not have been more thoughtful.

I will be opening mine after the Queens Speech. It smells really interesting and as an added challenge I have to take pictures with my I-Phone and then figure out how to get them onto the forum. Now thats what I call a post lunch challenge!

My Secret Santa was very, very good to me! Since I couldn't detect any ticking sounds, I opted to skip the usual step of immersing packages in water for 30 minutes or so, and simply opened it.
Inside I found several beautifully wrapped packages, accompanied by a wonderful card containing a very thoughtful and gracious letter. Upon opening the packages I found two of my most favorite tobaccos and a surprise blend that I'm enjoying tremendously! Good stuff!

Thank you 'Npod' and once again thank you to my Secret Santa for an amazing selection of tobacco especially the aged Condor Plug which was a welcome surprise!

My secret Santa was very generous as well. I got a tin of escudo and of cabbies mixture aged almost 2 yrs and labeled with the date of my daughter's bday 2/22 which is a happy coincidence. Along with the tins was a sampling of various holiday treats including chocolate, a craft beer and koozie from Santa's neck of the woods, two lighters, bristle pipe cleaners, a card game and two cigars all packed superbly and wrapped meticulously. And also a card. Thank you to Santa, this was fun and I look fwd to hopefully doing it again next year!

I had to be at work by 6:00 this morning. Before I left the house I thought I should open my gift. I opened it up and first saw a tin of Escudo. I thought that is a solid VAPER and a good choice. Then a saw a tin of Elizabethan which I thought was a generous gift since it has been taken off the market. I then turned the tins over and realized that each tin was over five years old -going on six. My Santa had given me some of his cellar treasures. I will certainly be thinking about this kind gesture when I put these to flame.

And here's my loot from my Secret Santa: a 100g tin of Doblone d'Oro (which I've never tried and been very eager to sample for a long time!), and a generous slice of the all-but-unobtainable Motzek Strang. Thank you so much Santa, very much appreciated!

So opened my Secret Santa gift. Two completely new tobaccos to try, a sample packet from the Chicago Pipe show. And a pair of the coolest socks I have seen in years. Those are getting worn tomorrow on my trip. Thank you Santa.

Opened mine up yesterday, and was pleased to find two tins of Black Frigate, a bag of Joker (looks to be a roll your own blend), and A nice little Dr G straight brandy.
