This brings back memories, I’ve sailed to the Solomon Islands on my Dad’s sailboat, we spent several months there.
We sailed there, because my Dad is one of those WWII John Wayne movie fans, so of course, he had to go see the Solomons.
We ended up of course in Guadalcanal, and walked on Red Beach, saw a lot of the Solomons...
Lots of WWII remains all over the place, guns, cannons, Sherman tanks, etc...
Also been to Tulagi Island, which was actually the capital during the war before Guadalcanal.
