That's the way things go these days. You should have heard my discussion with my health care provider today. A woman with an accent so heavy that I could only figure out every second word questioned me at length and took down endless information. I mean about ten minutes. She kept asking who my provider was. I had to tell her three times it was her company. Then she said she was the wrong person to talk to and gave me another number to call. She really could have said that in the beginning, but maybe she wanted to make sure the company knew they needed her. So she just talked. But as with the post office, I try to be tolerant. The stupid people have to work too, after all. Who else would hire them except big business and government. Everyone says education is the answer. No amount of dumbed down "education" would help people like this. Stupid is stupid. No, I am not talking about the U. S. Congress.

Well, I have had such troubles with my USPS delivery; I have simply elected not to order anything delivered by USPS in the future.
The following is my most recent letter to my post master; it s self explanatory...........
October 5, 2013
POST MASTER

HOUSTON, TEXAS 77088
Dear Post Master,
Please find a copy of my email to Veterinary Internet Company concerning an order that I placed with them as follows;
Tracking Number: 9405510200986128937878
To Whom It May Concern;
I have not received the item that I ordered from you. I just approached my

USPS deliver person, Ms. Davis who refused to even check to see if the item

was in her USPS delivery vehicle.

This problem is pretty much "par for the course" as the delivery of our mail

is spotty at best. I urge you to consider this matter in your choice of

delivery services on your future transactions. It is obvious that USPS

simply does not care and in the future I will not order any item delivered by

USPS.

Thank you in advance for your kind attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
William Ogg
The sub par performance of your mail delivery personnel is affecting interstate commerce and it is my intent to copy each and every Internet merchant that I do business with to urge them to use a method of delivery other than USPS.
I am bringing this matter to your attention hoping that something will be done to address this matter.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
William Ogg

@numbersix - sorry you went from ticked-off, to happy, to ticked-off. I've got a butane insert for my Zippo that is touchy like yours. So much so that I rarely use it. Good luck getting it resolved.

@toadfrog wow - that's bad. I have only good things to say about my local PO, but overall, it seems pretty clear they're falling well short of the mark.
Thanks scuba - not looking good so far, we'll see!

My Howell arrived today from Washington state. It left there on Wednesday. My mailman saw my garage door open and conked so I came outside. He was waving a little box and yelled "looks like another pipe, I figured you would want to know it was delivered". I thanked him and we chatted about his daughters and grandkids (the girls worked for me). Its great to live in a small town....
With my Android USPS app, I knew every step of the way where the pipe was located. A few minutes after getting the delivery, "ding" and "Delivered" popped up. I don't think you can beat that.

Sorry if my frustration peeked through; however my neighbors bring me more of my mail than the postal person does. I saw the thread and just thought I might add my own two cents.

No worries toad, we share experiences here. It just so happens, I'm in a fortunate area (but don't forget earlier I added a neighbors $400 or so new iphone ended up in my box...).
I forgot to add, we have two mail carriers that live in my neighborhood (including my carrier). While I was driving around trying to find that iPhone owners house, I yelled at one of my friends if he know that individual/address. It turned out I was on the wrong street. He asked me why, so I held up the box and said the US Postal goofed. It was then I remembered that his wife is the other carrier - so I quickly added, "but that hardly ever happens". He said he'd give her hell anyway (wasn't her route)..so, I bet she'll be glad to see me on the next encounter...

I love USPS, they are the best, never had any issues in all the years I have used them, definitely the most efficient government entity in history. I have no idea why people don't love these guys, they are so cool in their little trucks and cool uniforms. I especially like the ones who are too fat to get out of their cars and just throw stuff at your door, they never miss. They have the best aim I have ever seen. I always duke my postman 500.00 for Christmas for his perfect service.
I have been pretty lucky actually, only had one postman who would never try delivering items to my door and would always leave a slip even when I was home. I got him taken off my route.

I have Corilla over here delivering mail. She drives some kind of Hummer/ Amphibian assault vehicle and has every mail box turned around or leaning for 1.6 miles in every direction of my house. When she delivers to the door she leaves like a tidal wave receding. I have to walk a hundred yards getting lawn chairs and mess to put back around the picnic table.

I have always been in admiration for the USPS; they handle gadzillions of pieces per day, and manage to get most of them delivered. When I write a letter, it seems to get delivered even though my handwriting got my teachers to send for my parents to 'have a talk about Allan's penmanship'. (many years ago)
However:
I have tried to use the post office to deliver post cards. I paid normal price for each delivery on the larger size post cards, each one having an address and apartment number from my client records.
I spent alot of money on postage for these cards, and almost 30 per cent (I really think it was close to 40%, but I'll be kind) were returned with a yellow sticker saying 'non-deliverable' or 'no such address'.
After calling my clients to find out if they still lived at the posted address, every one I reached told me that they lived at that address, and at that apartment number. And we reached alot of clients.
I went to my local post office to get an explanation, only to have the blank stare given to me. No help whatsoever.
So,we called the local jurisdiction supervisor who took my information down to 'investigate'. No answer.
By this time, I had to move on and handle the the promotion another way.
Please understand, this was not bulk mail. Each postcard that I paid for had an address, and an apartment number on the card.
They were simply not delivered, and all returned to me. All from my current client list.
Roth, defend the Post office if you will, but this is not excusable.

They havent made a profit in years. That tells you how good a buisness they are. On a funnier note I have a pipe that ive had for weeks now. If you check the tracking number it states it is still in PA post office (I live in AL). Then you see their little commercials about how they scan up to 15 times! If you contact them now they even state well because of the holidays we are behind. REALLY? Did Christmas just sneak up on you guys again this year? All you can do is laugh at them. My specific carrier is a great guy, as I am sure there are several that work for them, overall they are outdated and need to go extinct.

They lost my new poker from Boswells and 9oz of tobacco they are the punks in my opinion. My package tracking says it left Cincinnati Ohio on Dec 16 and I live in central Ohio. That was the last time the tracking was updated and by the way USPS tracking is such a joke it is not funny.I called them and they have no idea at all where my package is.Last time I will use USPS for anything.
