Lol I did it too just because I never tried it, but it really did clean my little bruyere pipe that I've smoked lakeland tobacco in. I think that "wood" and probably most types don't really mind water because when it grows as a tree or shrub it needs water to live and grow. Honestly I never really thought about it much but, I know after they harvest the briar and keep it moist for a while and all the process it goes through that it's dried for such a long time so maybe that's why I never did thatpuffy
