There must be a bit of a back story here. Could you please share?
Gladly.

Canes were playing Toronto in Toronto a few years ago and their goalie got injured. Their backup goes in and gets injured. Then the 3rd goalie goes in and gets injured.

I'm not sure how this guy got the call, forum but a local zamboni driver who plays rec league hockey gets the call to lace 'em up. The Hurricanes rally around the guy and come back to win.

The best part? Toronto wasn't able to score on the guy.

That's the new "EBUG" position (emergency back up goalie) Not all the teams carry one on the road. PIttsburgh is glad they did...

Like I said, sometimes blowouts are just easier. Seeing as the Kings, excluding 2012, have only won the first two games of a playoff series on the road once in franchise history*, stealing another win at Northlands Coliseum Rogers Place would clearly have been too much to ask. Better clean up those special teams post haste boys!

* 2014 vs. Ducks, which barely constitutes being "on the road," seeing how many Kings fans show up at the pond!

Well, looks like the Hurricanes are for real, the Bruins were never in that one last night.
And the Kings may not be for real.
These lopsided, back and forth wins are why there are too many teams in the playoff's, the bottom rung probably doesn't belong.
The best playoff hockey series are the next round, typically.

I'm waiting to see if Carlson and Wilson are in the line-up tonight for the Caps, if not, we're truly doomed.

Looks like Domingue is back in net for the Pens tonight, that's going to be interesting, or a disaster. (hate the Pens, so I'm hoping for the later....)
