I wish I could taste the sweetness a lot of people talk about in aros. Wish I could, I just don't. Sometimes I get a real sweet tooth and would enjoy a sweet tasting smoke.

For people who have a yin for sweet-sweet aromatics and just can't find one sweet enough, Molto is the therapy. I can understand that. Some people go in quest of a blend with nicotine that will make smoke come out of their ears, and can find that. Something for everyone.

I do have some of that Wilkes aro's somewhere in my cellar stash. I forgot the lady's name who owned it - nice gal (Judy maybe?). She sold her store. I'll have to dig em' up ad try them out. I used to enjoy Butternut Burley (Scottys?) too, I got some of that somewhere as well.

Back to MD. Last night I read the reviews on TR. wished I'd done that beforehand. I still think Sutcliff's "secret sauce' is 10-30w motor oil . And they just pour it over carrot cake. Then sprinkle in a lil' gunpowder. And into the tin she goes. I reckon those tins will never rust out like the old GLP ones.

Boswells aro's I avoid as well, same thing, just too heavily cased, soggy and no baccy flavor. I love his pipes though (excluding the "grizzly" ones) but he sure does have a following for those monster pipes. He should start selling leather masks and gloves to go with them.

Wilke's still around - John Brandt now owns the name and blend recipes. Butternut is no longer available, because the supplier who provided the burley is no longer around, either.

My first experience with MD was horrible, but if you let it dry on a paper towel for several days it’s ok. It has way to much topping for my taste. They do offer a bulk option with a less topping that is much better called creme brûlée. This only needs to dry for a day and it is really good. I prefer English blends but creme brûlée is my go too when I have a sweet tooth.
